smashing a 2600 up to an existing granular and microsound system was interesting and the banjo reel fed nicely in with the other voices, but Pamela's New Workout only outputs gates at 5v, but the ttsh requires 10v. All of the gates in this study were triggered by the sample and hold gate on the ttsh, which I started clocking with a randomly skipped line of pulses from pam later in the recording. This was patched live and a test of the boundaries of the instrument.

The workflow recalls the Intellijel Atlantis, which takes inspiration from the Roland SH-101. Where Atlantis feels tight and controlled (in a good way), ttsh feels unpredictable and boundless (in an excellent way). It is designed specifically for mixing and crossing modulation, but enabling a player to remove all of the modulation without trying to remember what was patched where.

I'm still not sure what will happen when I try things like the ring modulator or the voltage processors. Triggering two function generators sent to six destinations is a very different way of thinking about how function generators fit in a system. I can see why sound designers like the arp, because I think once I get the hang of it, the controls will feel as tight as the Atlantis with 4x the capability.
